Bulletin – 4th Weekend of Advent

Dear Friends,

Mass at 4:30 P.M. –Christmas Pot-luck to follow (not too late to sign-up!)

We move this next week into the last week of Advent preparation for the Season of Christmas! The excitement grows as we look forward to welcoming once again into our hearts, The Child of Love, who comes anew each year, if we allow that to happen, to remind us that our life is ultimately in its best sense, all about love–given and received.

Come; celebrate this mystery and joy with us!

Peace and love,

Pastor Kathy

Readings:

  • Isaiah 7: 10-14
  • Romans 1: 1-7
  • Matthew 1: 18-24

Bulletin – 3rd Sunday (Gaudete) of Advent

Dear Friends,

  • Mass on Sunday, December 11, 2016, at 10 A.M.
  • Those wishing to assist with expenses in getting our contributions of food and clothing to Standing Rock Reservation can give a financial gift to Michael Maher either in the form of cash or check made out to Michael. Cash is preferred.
  • Remember to sign up for the Christmas Potluck after the 4;30 Mass, 12-17-2016
  • Remember our collection for supplies this Sunday 12-11 and next Saturday, 12-17 for the Winona Community Warming Center (see earlier email for needed items)

Our journey through Advent continues, on our way to Christmas–we are part way there as this Sunday will be Gaudete, or Joy Sunday.  The prophet, Isaiah speaks of this joy and amid that joy, the apostle, James asks for patience in our waiting.  We see that even John the Baptist’s faith wavers as he lives on in prison, but recovers when Jesus reminds him that his work has not been in vain.

Come; celebrate with joy and patience and faith this Sunday.

Peace and love,

Pastor Kathy

Readings:

  • Isaiah 35: 1-6, 10

Bulletin – 2nd Sunday of Advent

Dear Friends,

Mass at 10 A.M. Sunday, December 4, 2016

Last Sunday to bring good, warm winter clothes and non-perishable food items for Standing Rock Reservation

Remember to sign up for Christmas pot-luck after 4:30 P.M. Mass on December 17, 2016

We continue on our Advent journey to Jesus with this 2nd Sunday.  Isaiah lets us know who the “Root of Jesse” will be–one who is about justice for all.  Paul, in the 2nd reading from Romans and John the Baptist in Matthew’s gospel, continue this theme–John the Baptist saying quite simply–“Make all paths straight!”–let nothing get in your way on the pilgrimage to our brother, Jesus.

Come; journey with us this Sunday.

Peace and love,

Pastor Kathy

  • Isaiah 11: 1-10
  • Romans 15: 4-9

Bulletin – First Sunday of Advent

Dear Friends,

Mass on Sunday, November 27, 2016, 10 A.M.

Remember our collection of good, used or new winter clothing and non-perishable food items for the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in North Dakota–this collection will be ending on December 4, 2016.

On Sunday we begin the wonderful season of Advent, a gift of 4 weeks that allows us, if we are conscious of it to journey toward our God as our God journeys toward us.  Emmanuel means, “God with us” and during this season and the upcoming Christmas Season,we remember in a special way how our God always chooses to be near to us. Can we do likewise?

Come; begin this lovely, gentle season with us this Sunday–peace and love,

Pastor Kathy
