Bulletin – 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Friends,

Mass on Sunday at 10 A.M. –August 5, 2018

Bishop Nancy Meyer of the Midwest Region of Roman Catholic Womenpriests will be our guest–hopefully many of you can be with us to welcome her! She comes from Indiana.

We continue the theme this week of Jesus, the bread of life.  We learn from him–walking in his footsteps, of how we can be “bread” for our world.

Come; celebrate with us!

Peace and love,

Pastor Kathy

Bulletin – 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Friends,

Mass on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 10 A.M.

Last Sunday to bring groceries for July for our monthly food collection for Winona Volunteer Services

The readings this week continue to challenge us around leading a life worthy of our calling.  Two of the readings are explicitly about “sharing the bread” we have with others.  The miracle seems to be that when we give from our hearts whatever it is that we have to give; there is always enough to go around.   A wonderful message to ponder this week–come; pray and celebrate with us!

Peace and love,

Pastor Kathy

Readings:

  • 2 Kings 4: 42-44
  • Ephesians 4: 1-6

Bulletin – Mary of Magdala Celebration – Mass on the Farm

Dear Friends,

Mass on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 4:30 P.M. –potluck supper to follow–it’s not too late to join us–call Pastor Kathy at 507-429-3616 to register

Once a year, at about this time; we spend a day remembering a woman follower of our brother Jesus, Mary of Magdala, who was prophet and priest,  and in so doing , we not only honor her for her ministry and faithfulness, but we honor all women for their calls like the men of this world to be priests and prophets. Each of us must remember that this is our call–confirmed in our baptisms and it is never to gain power but is given for service.  Let us pray today for each other to better realize how wonderfully we are made  and of how graciously we each have been called.

We will celebrate this Saturday at 4:30 P.M. on the Gerold and Margaret Redig Family Farm, just 7 miles south of Winona. Address is : 24472 Gilmore Valley Road, Winona.

Come; celebrate with us the memory of Mary of Magdala and of all the women in our lives, those with us and those who have passed on. Let us thank God that we are blessed to have both female and male manifestations of the God Face in our world.

Peace and love,

Pastor Kathy

Readings: –because this is a special liturgy, with a special focus; we will have just two readings

  • Romans 16: 1-7, 16
  • John 20: 1-2, 11-18

Again this week, we are confronted with the call to be prophets as God gives that to us.  Jesus uplifted the good of community, as we spoke of last week, as he instructed his disciples to go out in pairs.

Robert and I will be away this Sunday for some family time and Dick Dahl will be standing in–thank you Dick!

Come; be with him this Sunday to pray and celebrate!

Peace and love,

Pastor Kathy

More again this week on our roles and responsibilities of being followers of our brother Jesus. The readings this week talk about the role of the prophet.  This walk with Jesus isn’t always easy, nor was it probably ever meant to be, but there is peace in knowing that he is always with us.  And as Paul says, “It is when I am powerless, that I am strong.”

Come; let us be there for each other, in our prayer, and in the ups and downs of our lives.

Peace and love,

Pastor Kathy
