Bulletin – 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Friends,

This weekend marks the end of Ordinary Time with the following weekend being the feast of Jesus, as King, but more so, our brother and friend.  There is much terminology about “end times” and “the end of time”—terms we must understand in their context.  Our life of faith and action should bring us hope and not fear as we ponder these mysteries.

Come; be with us this Sunday!

Peace and love,

Pastor Kathy

P.S. Final call to participate in next Saturday’s (11-21) potluck after the 4:30 P.M. Mass.

Readings:

  • Daniel 12: 1-3
  • Hebrews 10: 11-14, 18
  • Mark 13: 24-32

Bulletin – 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Friends,

We are called on once again this week to consider what we truly need in life and we might consider as my dear deceased mother-in-law, Margaret used to ask, “How much do I need and how much do I want?”  The prophet Elijah encourages us to, “not be afraid.” Come; join the All Are One community this week to ponder and pray over our needs and our wants.

Robert and I won’t be with you this week—we will be attending the Call to Action conference in Milwaukee.  For those who may not know CTA’s history—this was a gathering originally called in 1976 by the bishops to get the laity more involved in the Church. The bishops today have all but disavowed themselves from this group, because the laity truly took them at their word!

Dick Dahl will be with you this Sunday. Thanks Dick!

Peace and love,

Pastor Kathy

P.S. Just a couple weeks until our Thanksgiving pot-luck—sign up soon if you haven’t!

Readings:

  • 1 Kings 17: 10-16
  • Hebrews 9: 24-28
  • Mark 12: 38-44

Bulletin – All Saints Day

Dear Friends,

This Sunday we remember that we are saints—all loved by God—this is our heritage. On Monday, we remember all the saints who have gone before us—those we name as family and friends.  Most of us have grown up thinking of saints as those canonized by the Church and while that is true, that isn’t the end of the story. As someone once said, “Saints aren’t so much those who do ‘saintly’ things as they are sinners who allow God to work through their lives.

Come; contemplate this and more with us this week.

Peace and love,

Pastor Kathy

Readings:

  • Revelation 7: 2-4, 9-14
  • 1 John 3: 1-3
  • Matthew 5: 1-12

***On Saturday, November 21st we will have our 4:30 P.M. Mass for the month.  Afterward, at 5:30 P.M. or so, we will have our annual Thanksgiving pot-luck.  Please let me know if you are coming and what you will bring. Looking forward to celebrating with you!***

Bulletin – 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Friends,

The theme running through the Scripture readings this week is very much about caring for the least among us—the prophet Jeremiah, the high priest, Jesus, and us as his followers are called for that one purpose—service. And we can’t be about what most serves us in our service as Jesus challenges with the blind man, but about what truly is needed by those that we come to serve. “What do you want me to do for you?” our brother Jesus asks.

Come; be with us, pray with us to be good servants.

Peace and love,

Pastor Kathy

Readings:

  • Jeremiah 31: 7-9
  • Hebrews 5: 1-6
  • Mark 10: 46-52

Bulletin – 29th Weekend in Ordinary Time

Dear Friends,

This week’s readings call us to consider suffering—what it is all about and why there is suffering in our world. Our brother, Jesus, helps us make sense of it if we can keep open minds and hearts. Come; ponder these mysteries with us this week!

A reminder that Jane and Roger Bollinger have invited the parish to a pot-luck at their home on Saturday, October 24th at noon-? They will do barbecue for buns and will supply pickles and liquid refreshments. The entertainment will be a showing of Jane’s doll collection and Roger’s farm toy collection. Please get back to me with your availability to come and what you might bring for the pot-luck. Jane and Roger live in Buffalo City area and will give us directions when we get closer to the date. This sounds like a fun time–thanks Jane and Roger for initiating this get-together!

Peace and love,

Pastor Kathy
