This week’s readings plunge us right into the ministry of Jesus as he gathers followers around him.  The theme of, “Shine Your Light” that was first shone in Jesus is very much with us along with hope from the psalmist reminding us that because Jesus is our Light; we have nothing to fear.

The call and challenge goes out once again this week from the prophet Isaiah that we be “lights” in our world, following in the footsteps of our brother, Jesus.  Not always easy, but our task just the same! Mass on Sunday at 10 A.M.-January 8, 2017-451 Huff Street

With this Sunday, we will officially conclude our celebration of the Christmas Season with the Solemnity of the Epiphany/The Coming of the Three Kings.  “Arise” and “Shine” are the commands for this concluding Sunday of Christmas–we are to get up and get moving and share the message of Jesus through our everyday lives of love toward all.

Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God

Dear Friends,

Mass on Sunday, January 1, 2017–10 A.M.

We begin a New Year, 2017!  New beginnings offer us a  renewed chance to be our best selves–for ourselves and for our world. Mary, our Mother, Sister and Friend, is a wonderful example as she “treasures all things and reflects on them in her heart” for us as we attempt to find our place in this world and share God’s goodness with all we encounter each day.

If you can’t be with us, please know that you are with us in spirit and prayer wherever you are this day and night, and may you be blessed with joy, peace and love through family of birth or family of choosing. If there is anything that I can do for you as your pastor, please know that I am always available to you and your families.
