Bulletin – 6th Weekend in Ordinary Time

Remember our collection of non-perishable food items for Winona Volunteer Services 

SAVE THE DATE! Monday, March 4, 2019 at 7 P.M. The film, Pink Smoke Over the Vatican  will be shown in the Science Lab Center at Winona State University with a discussion following on women’s ordination within the Catholic church.

Coming off of this past’s week celebration of love, let us strive to allow our hearts to break open with love for our holy world and its people.

“We affirm that as a congregation of people of faith, we are taking seriously the call to provide sanctuary support in the Winona Sanctuary Network. We recognize that our immigrant neighbors are a vital part of our community and local economy and that due to a broken immigration system they have not all been allowed the legal protections that they deserve. To this end we will use our privilege and our resources to stand with our community members that are in fear of deportation. As a sanctuary support community we are able to do this by providing; prayers, security, time, money, advocacy, relationship, and fellowship to the degree that is within our power.”

SAVE THE DATE: March 4, 2019, Monday evening, 7 P.M. Showing of Pink Smoke Over the Vatican with discussion on women’s ordination within the Catholic church–Science Learning Center, Room 120, Winona State University campus 

We are once again this Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time being led to share our God’s love for us with others –possibly when we least expect.  Isaiah’s response was to the point, “Here I am, send me!”  What will our response be?

Mass on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at 10 A.M.

CORRECTION: The public showing of Pink Smoke Over the Vatican  and discussion on women’s ordination to the priesthood in the Catholic church has been changed from February 20 to March 4, 2019. This is a Monday evening and will be held in the Science Learning Center, Room 120 on the Winona State University campus. 

Ordinary Time continues to call us as baptized followers of Jesus to continue to respond to his message that the words of Scripture are fulfilled–or in other words, that we are to continue to “show” him to our world through lives of love.

Mass on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 10 A.M. –Last Sunday to bring non-perishable food items for the Winona Volunteer Food Shelf January collection 

Saturday, January 26, 2019–Two Events!

First is the Local Elected Officials Meeting–9-11 A.M., at the Winona History Center, 160 Johnson Street. Hosted by the League of Women Voters and Winona Criminal Justice Coordinating Council.  Invited are the Sheriff, representatives from the local school boards, State Representatives and Senators: Drazkowski, Miller, Pellowski and Goggin.  They will make statements and then be open for questions.  A small group from the Winona Sanctuary Movement will be addressing the issue of drivers’ licenses for all as a recognized I.D. 

Second is the first of more, Winona Sanctuary Volunteer Training at Wesley United Methodist church at the corner of Main and Broadway, 1-3 P.M. in the Loft. 

Board Election on Sunday for new board members for All Are One Catholic church

Jesus says in this week’s gospel that the “Scriptures are fulfilled today in our hearing.”  Would that people could continue to say as they watch Jesus’ followers–us, that “the Scriptures are  being fulfilled, now!”

Remember our non-perishable food collection for Winona Volunteer Services

February 20, 2019, Wednesday, 7-9 P.M. Science Learning Center, Room 120, Winona State University–public showing of Pink Smoke Over the Vatican–with discussion following on the topic of the ordination of women within the Catholic church. 

The Church Year moves back into Ordinary Time with this weekend’s feast. This simply signals to us that it’s Ordinary Time now till Lent begins on March 6, with Ash Wednesday.  In  the interim, our mission is constant with our everyday, in every way following of our brother, Jesus.
