Mass on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 10 A.M. —Remember–last Sunday to bring non-perishable food items to support our local food shelf

UPCOMING EVENTS

  • Friday night, April 26, 2019 at 7 P.M.–Winona Sanctuary Network is sponsoring speaker, Nysha Cornelius from the Immigration Law Center of Minnesota.  Stark Hall, Room 103, Auditorium, 175 West Mark Street. 
  • Saturday morning, April 27, 2019 at 11 A.M. at Mugby Junction, “A Time with Senator Jeremy Miller”– drivers’ licenses for all, gas tax, gun sense laws
  • Sunday evening–“A Time to Remember and Stand in Solidarity with the Sri Lankan People”–time TBA. Place–gazebo at WSU.  All Are Invited! 

The Easter Alleluias continue! Let us remember Jesus’ words when we fear doing what we must…”Don’t be afraid,” for “I am with you always!”

Easter Vigil, April 20, 2019 at 4:30 p.m.  THIS WILL SERVE AS OUR EASTER SERVICE–No Mass on Sunday!

Services for Holy Week–Good Friday–April 19, 2019 at 4:30 P.M.– Easter Vigil, Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 4:30 P.M. –NO MASS ON EASTER SUNDAY!

 

    Remember  our weekly collection of non-perishable items for the food shelf.  We gave 64# of food during March and $300 for the March Food Share month. Each dollar is good for $2 when food is purchased through Channel One–Rochester.  Thank you all! 

Last Interfaith Council film is Tuesday night, April 16, 2019 at 7 p.m., Stark Hall, Room 103, Winona State University, All Quiet on the Western Front–one hundred years since World War I,  this film is still among the best on the horrors of war. 

With Palm Sunday this week; we move into the holiest week of our Church Year.  It’s all about over-the-top love of our God for us.

Bulletin – 5th Sunday in Lent

Mass on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 10 A. M. 

April 9, 2019, Tuesday evening at 7 P.M.–the film, Of Gods and Men will be shown at WSU, Stark Hall, Room 103. This is the story of 8 French monks who chose not to flee civil war-torn Algeria but remain in solidarity with their Muslim community. This is another of the Winona Interfaith offerings. 

April 27-28, 2019, Saturday and Sunday, 9 A.M. — 4 P.M. each day, Cor et Lumen Christi Healing Ministry will have an offering in Rochester, MN at St. John the Evangelist school, 424 West Center Street in Rochester. Damian Stayne, founder of this Vatican-endorsed ministry has preached and done healing ministry for 26 years. On Sunday evening from 6:30 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. there will be a healing service. For the Saturday and Sunday teaching sessions, there is a fee of $40 and the healing service on Sunday evening is free. 

Jesus tells us in this week’s gospel that if we are without sin, we can throw the first stone, so knowing the answer personally, we must continue on, as Jesus did, giving our best in this world.

SAVE THE DATES:

Tuesday, April 9, 2019, 7 P.M. at Stark Hall, Room 103, Of Gods and Men–the story of 8 French monks who chose not to flee civil war-torn Algeria, but remain in solidarity with their Muslim community.

Tuesday, April 16, 7 P.M. at Stark Hall, Room 103, All Quiet on the Western Front (1979)–100 years after WWI, the world is still dealing with its repercussions. As a noted film critic wrote, “This film remains on of the most powerful comments on the horrors of war.” 

We are moving through Lent.  This week we ponder the wonderful love of our God as displayed in the story of the Prodigal.
